If you are interested in Russian literature, culture and history join our lectures where we will discuss Russian novels and how they depict Russian people, mentality and history.
DISCUSS: Fyodor Dostoyevsky’s novel “Notes from underground”. Written in 1864 a few years after the writer’s return from Siberian exile, the novella anticipates the themes, images and ideas that will later be found in his great novels. Discussion is in English
LEARN: about one of the most famous Russian writers of XIX century who influenced a great number of later writers and philosophers including Friedrich Nietzsche, Ernest Hemingway, Ayn Rand, Sigmund Freud, and Jean-Paul Sartre.
