23 февраля (February 23) is Defender of the Fatherland Day in Russia (it used to be Red Army Day in USSR). Officially the holiday celebrates people who are serving or were serving the Russian Armed Force, but now unofficialy it looks like a celebration of men as a whole.

8 марта (March 8) is International Women's Day in Russia. This holiday originated as a day of rebellion of women struggling to equal their rights with the men's ones, but now it is a day of affection and concord between sexes. We celebrate women and spring.

Both days are public holidays in Russia.
