Penguin lost and found in St. Petersburg

One of my students has just landed in St. Petersburg. He is going to spend several months studying there.

"When the plane touched down at the airport, someone cried out "Doma" which means "home" in Russian, and everyone clapped. I'm not sure whether everyone was clapping because of the safe landing or because they're finally home, but if its the latter, then it probably shows you how dear motherland means to them. It seemedsurreal also, because for the first time, I was surrounded by Russians and I heard endless Russians talking and speaking in Russian, something i wanted to find in Singapore or elsewhere but of course to no avail."
