Experience
the richness and opulence of Russian choral music – liturgical and
secular – a centuries-old tradition sung authentically by one of the
world’s greatest a cappella choirs.
Renowned for its ancient liturgical choruses to 20th century masters,
the Moscow State Chamber Choir is also highly praised for works from
Monteverdi to Bernstein. Formed in 1972 by the eminent Vladimir Minin,
the Choir has been hailed as a master ensemble of individual soloists,
having performed with distinguished Russian singers such as Evgeny
Nestorenko, Irina Arkhipova and Elena Obraztsova, and under the
direction of Evgeny Svetlanov, Vladimir Spivakov and Mikhail Pletnev.
Its Singapore debut programme presents a selection of sacred and
secular choral masterpieces, and the rousing popular favourites of the
Russian folksong tradition.
